COMMON WASTE TYPES

As a conscientious skip and grab hire provider, our waste types are broken down into environmentally friendly loads, to ensure your waste is disposed of in the most ecologically responsible and cost efficient way.

General Mixed Waste

General mixed waste refers to a mix of non-hazardous materials from household, garden and light construction projects, including wood, plastics, furniture and packaging.

Not suitable for hazardous waste or large volumes of heavy materials such as heavy metals, soil or hardcore.

RESTRICTED ITEMS: All aggregate (soil + hardcore), Ceramics, Turf, Green Waste, Solvents, Pressurised Cans/Bottles, Gas Cylinders, Plasterboard & Hazardous Timber.

TV’S*, Monitors*, Paints*, Tyres*, Asbestos*, Sofas*, upholstered furniture* & Mattresses*.

*ACCEPTED IF PRE-AGREED. ADDITIONAL CHARGES APPLY.

Builders Mixed Waste

Builders mixed waste includes a mix of construction materials such as wood, plasterboard, plastics, metals and general building debris from renovation or building projects.

 

Small amounts of soil and rubble may be included, but not as the primary material.

PERMITTED ITEMS:

Mixed hardcore, bulky plastics, bulky timber, large sheeting, bulky metals, insulation, soil (10%)*, general builders waste, CLEAN plasterboard only (10%, bagged and placed on top)*, green waste (10%)*

*Any more than 10% could contaminate the whole skip. The whole skip will be treated as landfill and charged at the prevailing rate.

RESTRICTED ITEMS: Solvents, Pressurised Cans/Bottles, Gas Cylinders, Roofing Tiles with Spray Foam Attached, Dirty Plasterboard & Hazardous Timber.

TV’S**, Monitors*, Paints**, Tyres**, Asbestos**, Sofas**, upholstered furniture** & Mattresses**.

Rock Rubble

Clean Mixed Hardcore

Ideal for concrete, brick, tile and rubble removal.

Our clean mixed hardcore skips are designed for heavy, inert waste with no contamination.

A cost-effective solution for disposing of clean, heavy construction waste.

PERMITTED ITEMS: Concrete, Bricks, Tiles and Rubble

RESTRICTED ITEMS: Soil or Clay, Wood, Plastics and any General Waste.

Any contamination may result in the load being reclassified and charged at a different rate.

Soil & Hardcore

Soil & hardcore includes materials such as soil, clay, concrete, bricks, tiles and rubble.

 

This waste type may contain a mix of inert materials and is commonly produced from groundworks and construction projects.

PERMITTED ITEMS: Clean non hazardous domestic soil, clean mixed hardcore, 10% shillet stone allowance (other options with higher % shillet available)  

RESTRICTED ITEMS: All other material types, including, wood, turf, large roots, plastics, green waste and general waste. No more than 10% shillet stone.

Any contamination may result in the load being reclassified and charged at a different rate.

Due to the weight of this material, skips are subject to 8 Tonne load limits

Clean Plasterboard Only

Ideal for renovation, construction and strip-out projects.

Plasterboard must be kept separate from other waste due to environmental regulations.

Plasterboard includes gypsum-based materials such as standard plasterboard, fire-rated and moisture-resistant boards.

Separate collection or dedicated skips may be required for plasterboard waste.

 

PERMITTED ITEMS: Clean Plasterboard (Gypsum Board), Offcuts and full sheets. Standard, fire-rated and moisture-resistant boards.

RESTRICTED ITEMS: Any mixed waste, Timber, Metal or fixings. Wet or heavily contaminated boards. No Artex, foam, insulation or silver-backing attached.

Plasterboard must not be mixed with other waste. Contaminated loads may be rejected or charged at a different rate.

Clean Timber Only

Cost-effective and environmentally responsible disposal option.

Clean timber includes untreated and unpainted wood only.

Separate collection or dedicated skips may be required for timber waste.

 

PERMITTED ITEMS: Untreated Wood, Timber offcuts, Pallets (non-treated), Wooden Boards & Planks, Joinery waste (clean). Small amount of fixings.

RESTRICTED ITEMS: Painted or Varnished Wood, MDF, Chipboard or Laminate, Treated Timber (e.g Fence panels), Railway Sleepers and any general waste.

Timber loads must not be mixed with other waste. Contaminated loads may be rejected or charged at a different rate.
